Happy Wednesday! Today we have a quick dose of inspiration from a new Entrepreneur Interview with Jennifer Young. Jennifer is a lifestyle photographer and blogger at her beautiful blog, I ART U. There, Jennifer shares her creative journey through her stunning photos, including “natural light, authentic moments, understanding and appreciating the process of creating, travel, café hopping, dinner with friends, creative details, and finding beauty in simplicity.” In this interview, you’ll get a taste of living and working creatively as an entrepreneur, and how you can stay motivated and inspired when you work requires consistent creativity. (Now, to the interview!)
So, you’re business isn’t going where you want it to go. It’s not growing at the rate you would have hoped for, after all of the hard work you’ve put into it. There comes a time in many businesses when you have to make a major decision – should I quit, keep going down this same path, or try something completely different? I’m going to be honest with you: I was just recently at this very stage. After weighing the options, here’s my thoughts on making major changes in your business:
- Have you been down this past more than a couple months? If so, consider continuing; in many cases, it takes more than several months to pick up real momentum.
- Has it been longer than you’d originally planned on going down this path with little progress? Have you tried changing things up? If not, it may be time for a major change!
- Have you tried it all; stuck with it, made big changes, tried every marketing tactic in the book but still no progress? It’s very possible that there just simply isn’t a big enough marketing looking for what you’re selling: time to consider cutting your losses and shift your energy into a new project.
